Effluent Filter Cleaning
Septic
systems installed after January 1st, 2007 are equipped with an effluent
filter. An effluent filter stops large particles from clogging up
the leaching bed. Once a leaching bed becomes clogged effluent
(liquid waste) will rise to the ground’s surface or back up
through the plumbing in your home. For septic systems installed
prior to 2007, the addition of an effluent filter to your system is
smart, cost effective choice as it can add years to the service of your
leaching bed and help avoid costly repairs. Regular inspection
and cleaning of your effluent filter is mandatory to the maintenance of
your septic system.
